Chocolate Banana Bread

About This Recipe

This moist Chocolate Banana Bread is made with ripe bananas, cocoa powder, and loaded with chocolate chips. It’s lighter than most recipes but still rich, fudgy, and delicious

Ingredients

  • 4 medium ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 4 teaspoons neutral oil
  • 1 ½ tablespoons egg whites
  • 3 tablespoons monk fruit sweetener (or sugar)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup sugar free chocolate chips ( or chocolate chunks)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Spray a 8 1/2 X 4 1/2-inch loaf pan with oil. You can place a piece of parchment paper about 8 1/2 x 9 inches inside the pan so it’s easy to remove.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl combine bananas, oil, egg whites, sugar and vanillas. In a large mixing bowl whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt until combined. Fold in the banana mixture and chocolate chips.
  3. Pour into the prepared pan and bake about 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes clean.
  4. Remove from the loaf pan and let it cool 15 minutes before cutting. Slice in 10 slices.
