About This Recipe
Homemade maple chicken breakfast sausage patties made with ground chicken, spices, and a touch of maple syrup. Lower in fat than pork sausage and packed with protein.
Instructions
- Make sausages: Add ground chicken, maple syrup, garlic powder, sage, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to a medium-large bowl. Using your hands, mix to combine.
- Form sausage patties: Form mixture into 9 equal-sized patties (about 1.75 ounces each), flattening them out and putting a thumb-sized indent in the middle so they don't puff up when cooked. If sticky, wet hands with a little water.
- Cook: Heat a large nonstick skillet or cast iron over medium heat, add olive oil, and let it get hot. Add patties in a single layer and cook for 3-5 minutes, flip, and cook another 2-4 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Enjoy: Serve with your favorite breakfast items and enjoy.
💡 Notes & Tips
- Store in airtight container in fridge for 4-5 days.
- Freeze cooked patties for up to 3 months; cook directly from frozen.
- Ground turkey or ground pork can be substituted for chicken.
