Instructions
- Peel and cut your bananas up into slivers.
- Put them into a freezer safe container and freeze them until frozen.
- Add your frozen slivers and the rest of your ingredients into either a food processor or blender (a mixing bowl with a good hand blender will work great too).
- Process or blend until your ice cream is smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Eat it as-is if you like softer ice cream, or freeze it for 20-30 minutes until you reach your desired consistency.
💡 Notes & Tips
- If ice cream looks too thick or having trouble mixing, add in a little more milk until it 'thins' out. If too thin, add 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum. The two most common issues: icy texture = bananas not ripe enough or skipped xanthan gum; not firming up = too much liquid. If your blender stalls, pause, scrape down the sides, and try again before adding more milk. Thaw from frozen for ~10 minutes before eating for best texture. Flavor variations: Strawberry (cashew butter + strawberry protein + 1/2 cup frozen strawberries); Peanut butter (vanilla protein + PB to 3 tbsp or 2 tbsp PB2 powder); Mocha (almond butter + chocolate protein + 2 tbsp cocoa + 1-2 tsp instant coffee/espresso); Cookies and cream (cookies and cream protein + 2 tbsp crushed chocolate cookies folded in); Cinnamon roll (vanilla protein + 1/2 tsp cinnamon + splash vanilla extract); Pumpkin spice (vanilla protein + 1/4 cup pumpkin puree + 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice); Mint chocolate chip (vanilla protein + 1/4 tsp mint extract + 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips).
